October's Creative Sparks

It has already turned so quickly over to the quieter month of November, but my heart remains with October, my favourite month of the year. As a lover of all things supernatural, folk and gothic, I was deeply in my element in terms of finding creative inspiration. All sorts of music, film, art and even websites can inspire me to write something, or will help along something I am already working on.

Here are some of the things I was loving during the month of October that have sparked a few new story ideas and have flavoured current works:

Reads:

The Occult, Witchcraft & Magic: An Illustrated History by Christopher Bell

Sabat Magazine: "fuses witchcraft and feminism, ancient archetypes and instant art"

Oh Comely Magazine: Magic issue. "Oh Comely is a curious, honest and playful independent magazine. It’s a place to meet strangers, hear their stories and look at life differently"

Websites:

Music:

1. Eyes on Fire by Blue Foundation

2. Lavender Moon by Haroula Rose

3. To Let Myself Go by Ane Brun

4. The Autumn Carnival by The Dandy Warhols

5. Cupid Carries a Gun by Marilyn Manson

6. Rhiannon by Fleetwood Mac

7. I Put a Spell on You by Creedence Clearwater Revival

Movies/Shows I watched:

Salem (season 2)

American Horror Story: Coven (rewatched)

Bram Stoker's Dracula (1992) (rewatched)

Workshop/events:

Scrying for Beginners at Atlantis Bookshop (London)

Instagrammers I'm particularly loving right now:
