November's Creative Sparks

Reads:

"The Complete Stories" by Zora Neale Hurston

"Rise Sister Rise" by Rebecca Campbell

The songs I wanted to put on repeat this month are all old favourites except one,(Civilian). Joni Mitchell and The Kinks can always stir a narrative from me and I believe there'll be a few short stories written whilst they play in the future. The Cure have a particular influence on my upcoming novel, The Heart Note and so I'll be listening to them plenty during December as I crack on with writing my next book.

Music:

1. Civilian by Wye Oak

2. All I Want by Joni Mitchell

3. Boys Don't Cry by The Cure

4. Sunny Afternoon by The Kinks

5. Whole Wide World by Wreckless Eric

6. Hands Open by Snow Patrol

As we now have evenings indoors to fill during these colder climes of Slovenia, Norman and I have decided we will start a new tradition of watching an old movie after dinner, we've only managed two so far since we arrived, but I get the feeling December is going to be full of great films.

Movies:

Roman Holiday (1953)

A Streetcar Named Desire (1951)

Instagrammers I'm particularly loving right now:
